چکیده

The aims of the present study were to examine: 1) the validity and reliability of a new timing system to assess running kinematics during change of direction (COD), and 2) the determinants of COD-speed. Twelve young soccer players performed three 20-m sprints, either in straight line or with one 45oor 90oCOD. Sprints were monitored using timing gates and two synchronized 100-Hz laser guns, to track players’ velocities before, during and after the COD. The validity analysis revealed trivial-to-small biases and smallto-moderate typical errors of the estimate with the lasers compared with the timing gates. The reliability was variable-dependent, with trivial(distance at peak speed) to-large (distance at peak deceleration) typical errors. Kinematic variables were angle-dependent, with likely lower peak speed, almost-certainly slower minimum speed during the COD and almost-certainly greater deceleration reached for 90o-COD vs. 45oCOD sprints. The minimum speed during the COD was largely correlated with sprint performance for both sprint angles. Correlations with most of the other independent variables were unclear. The new timing system showed acceptable levels of validity and reliability to assess some of the selected running kinematics during COD sprints. The ability to maintain a high speed during the COD may be the determinant of COD-speed.

Physical Performance Comparison between Under 15 Elite and Sub-Elite Soccer Players

The aim of this study was to compare the physical performance profile among young soccer players of different competitive levels. Two teams of elite (n = 22) and sub-elite (n = 22) soccer players at national (highly skilled) and regional (moderately skilled) level were recruited in the study. All participants were tested using a modified Illinois change of direction speed test, a T-drill with a...

Study on Braking Panels in High Speed Trains Using CFD

With speed increasing in high-speed trains, due to limitations of other types of brakes, aerodynamic brake has become an important braking method. In this task to make better use of brake’s panel different configurations are examined and the best panel shape which provides the reasonable drag coefficient is introduced. The results of simulations are carried out with the computational fluid dyna...

Which Postural Control and Functional Movement Screen Values Related to Change of Direction Runs?

Background. Instead of different measurements of physical performances such as postural control, strength, and flexibility, studies investigating many abilities such as the harmony between these abilities and body segments simultaneously with the test FMS results and different physical relationships were performed. Meaningful results and other relationships between COD, FMS, and PC have previou...

Differences in loaded and unloaded vertical jumping ability and sprinting performance between Brazilian elite under-20 and senior soccer players

The aim of this study was to compare performance in sprint, change of direction speed, vertical jump and jump squat tests between elite soccer players from two different age categories (i.e., under-20 and senior players) from the same soccer club. Players performed sprints (average velocity at 5, 10 and 20 m), zig-zag change of direction speed (COD speed), squat and countermovement jump tests a...

An Investigation on the Effect of Using Regenerative Braking System on Energy Consumption Reduction of Hybrid Vehicles Based on Tehran City Driving Cycle

In driving and when you brake, a lot of energy is dissipated to stop the car; especially in urban areas where the vehicle is driving in a stop-and-go pattern. This energy, which is dissipated by the brake pads, can be stored in the vehiclechr('39')s battery. In Hybrid and Electric Vehicles, a regenerative brake can be used alongside the mechanical brakes to regenerate some energy while braking....
